The short answer
What AI fashion photography costs depends on how it's sold. Self-serve tools charge a subscription for credits, and the generating, selecting and checking is your work. Done-for-you services charge per finished image, and the price covers the work around the generation: a consistent model, art direction, a person checking every frame against the real garment, and revisions. Either way, budget for good source photos and for your own time.
At Sellora, studio images on a model start from $95 each, lifestyle images and campaigns are quoted in your proposal, and every project is quoted individually.
Two ways AI fashion photos are priced
Self-serve tools: credits
Tools price in credits, and the credits an image costs change with resolution and settings. Four steps get you a tool's real cost per image:
- Images per plan. Divide the plan's credits by the credits one image costs at the resolution you'll publish. Higher resolutions and extra settings, such as a consistent face, cost more credits.
- Price per image. Divide the plan price by that number.
- Price per keeper. Multiply by the generations you need for one usable image. If one in three is good enough, every keeper costs three images.
- Your time. Add the minutes you spend generating, comparing each result with the garment and fixing prompts.
Done for you: a price per finished image
With a done-for-you service, the price per image covers the work a tool leaves to you. AI is our camera. The art direction is ours. At Sellora, the price per image includes:
- on a retainer, your brand model, cast for you, matched to your buyer and kept the same across your catalog;
- a connected set of 7 images per product, studio (on white or your brand's backdrop) or lifestyle (on the street or on location), with the shot list agreed with you;
- a person checking every frame for fit and length, drape, color, print and logo, construction, hands, pose and skin, and main-image rules;
- delivery within days (the first batch within 10 business days), sized for Amazon, Shopify, Etsy and social, with two revision rounds within 10 days.

What it can't do as well as a camera: highly reflective fine jewelry, complex layered outfits and extreme close-ups of fine lace. If your products fall there, we say so before quoting.
What the price per image leaves out
The sticker price of an AI image is rarely the full cost. Budget for these as well.
Source photos. Every AI option starts from photos of the real garment, and dark, small or creased photos give weaker results. Sellora works from the photos you already have: flat lays, ghost mannequin shots, photos on a hanger, or sharp phone photos where the fabric, color and details are clearly visible. Photos of 2,000px or more work best, plus a size chart and 1–3 reference images. We don't shoot product photos ourselves; if you need new ones, see what drives the cost of ghost mannequin and flat lay photography.
Fixes and retouching. A generation is not a checked photo. A hem that lands too high, a logo missing a letter or a print that warps means another generation or a retoucher.
Revisions. Ask how many rounds are included and what counts as a revision. At Sellora, you get two revision rounds within 10 days of delivery, and if an image fails our acceptance checklist, we remake it free or refund that image.
Rights. Read each license for commercial use, ads and marketplaces before you publish. Sellora's photos come with an exclusive, perpetual license once the order is paid in full.
Consistency. One recognizable model across your catalog can cost extra. At Sellora, a retainer includes your brand model, matched to your buyer and kept the same across your catalog.
Your time. This is the biggest hidden cost of a self-serve tool. Generating several versions per keeper and checking each one against the garment adds up with every product.
How to plan an AI photo budget
- Count products and colorways. At Sellora, each product gets a set of 7 images on a model, and a second colorway is quoted in your proposal.
- Choose the mix. Studio images on white or your brand's backdrop are priced per image; lifestyle images and campaigns are quoted in your proposal.
- Check your source photos. Make sure every product has a clear photo where the fabric, color and details are visible, and gather your size chart and 1–3 reference images of the look you want.
- Plan the rhythm. The first batch is ready within 10 business days. On a monthly retainer, each drop of up to 10 products is then ready within 5–6 business days, on the same brand model.
Before the full batch, you approve the direction on 2–4 images. Want to see one of your products on a model first? A trial image costs $95 and is credited to your first order. Every project is quoted individually, and your proposal shows the total.
Which option fits you
A self-serve tool fits if your catalog is small, someone on your team enjoys image work and has an eye for fit, and the images are for social posts, tests or listings where a near-miss is acceptable.
Done-for-you AI fits if you launch products steadily and want finished, checked sets on one consistent model, sized for Amazon, Shopify, Etsy and social, without learning a tool. That's what Sellora does; see how our on-model photoshoots work and AI photo tools vs done-for-you.
A live shoot fits campaigns, video, fit-critical pieces, and the products AI renders least faithfully: highly reflective fine jewelry, complex layered outfits and extreme close-ups of fine lace.
A product-only shoot comes first if you don't yet have usable photos of your products, since every AI route starts from them.
